ABOUT
RIVERBEND KITCHENS
Owner-led. Process-driven. Built on trust, craftsmanship, and a commitment to making your kitchen remodel stress-free.
We Proudly Transform Homes in the Quad Cities Area
Since 2023, Riverbend Kitchens has been transforming outdated kitchens into functional, beautiful spaces across the Quad Cities. We’re not a large-scale operation trying to juggle dozens of projects at once. We’re a boutique, owner-led company that focuses on quality over quantity.
We serve homeowners in Coal Valley, Bettendorf, Davenport, Moline, Rock Island, Geneseo, Eldridge, East Moline, and Milan. Our clients aren’t looking for the cheapest bid. They’re looking for a remodeler they can trust to do it right the first time.
That’s exactly what we deliver: premium materials, trusted contractors, photorealistic 3D renderings, and a systematic process that eliminates the stress and uncertainty that typically comes with remodeling.
Your Project Command Center: The JobTread Portal
Most remodelers leave you in the dark, wondering what’s happening with your project. At Riverbend Kitchens, you’ll have 24/7 access to your dedicated JobTread client portal—your single source of truth for everything related to your kitchen remodel.
View your project schedule to know exactly what’s happening when, allowing you to plan around construction milestones.
Access all your documents in one organized place—contracts, selections, invoices, and warranties—no more digging through emails.
See your design evolve with all renderings, floor plans, and material selections stored right in your portal.
Track progress in real-time with updates, photos, and communication threads that keep everyone aligned and informed.
This isn’t just project management software—it’s peace of mind. You’ll always know where your project stands, what’s coming next, and who to contact with questions.
Why Homeowners Choose Us
We're not just remodelers, we're your guide through every step of the process.
Client-Centric Design Philosophy
Instead of rushing towards a sale, we slow the process down to understand what your needs, lifestyle, and unique priorities are. Our process prioritizes layout, storage, and function – leaving you with a kitchen that is truly timeless.
Clear Communication, Zero Guesswork
We give our clients a portal to track schedule, designs, documents, budgets, and updates throughout their project. No chasing emails or confusion – just a streamlined process to get your project done right.
Systematic, Low-Stress Process
We’ve built a clear framework that eliminates overwhelm. From product selections — where we present a focused set of options instead of hundreds — to a transparent punch-list process, every step is organized, visible, and designed to keep you informed.
OUR MISSION
To transform outdated, dysfunctional kitchens into beautiful, functional spaces that homeowners love—with a process that’s clear, organized, and built on trust. We believe your kitchen remodel should inspire confidence, not stress. That’s why we focus on listening first, designing thoughtfully, and delivering results that match your vision.
What Drives Us Every Day
These are the values that guide how we work, communicate, and serve our clients.
- Process-Driven: We follow a proven, systematic approach to every project. No guessing. No nonsense. Just a clear process that keeps you informed and on track.
- Caring: We go to great lengths to take care of our clients. From setting up temporary kitchens to protecting your home during construction, we treat your space with respect.
- Trustworthy: We do what we say we're going to do. Our detailed proposals, transparent communication, and commitment to quality ensure you can trust us from start to finish.
- Premium, Not Cheap: We're not the cheapest option, and we don't try to be. We focus on quality materials, trusted contractors, and doing it right the first time.
- Empathetic Listening: We dig deep to understand what you hate about your current kitchen and what you need for better functionality. Every design decision starts with listening.
Is Riverbend Kitchens Right for Your Project?
We’re not the right fit for everyone, and that’s okay. Our process is designed for homeowners who value quality, planning, and a guided experience. Here’s how to know if we’re a good match.
- We're a great fit if you:
- Value planning over rushing: You want to take the time to get the design right before construction begins
- Want predictable timelines: You appreciate a systematic process with clear milestones and realistic schedules
- Prefer a calm, guided process: You'd rather have expert guidance and curated options than feel overwhelmed by endless choices
- We're probably not the right fit if you're looking for:
- The cheapest overall option: We focus on quality materials and craftsmanship, not the lowest price
- Unlimited free designs: Our design packages are structured to provide focused, intentional solutions
- Rushing into projects: We believe good design takes thoughtful planning, not quick decisions
- A big-box store experience: We're a boutique, owner-led company, not a high-volume operation
If you’re nodding along to the first list, we’d love to talk about your kitchen. If the second list sounds more like what you need, we respect that and wish you the best with your project.
Meet Matt Vermillion, Owner & Designer
Matt Vermillion founded Riverbend Kitchens to create a kitchen remodeling company homeowners could actually trust. With a background in carpentry and years of kitchen design experience, he saw too many homeowners frustrated by poor communication, blown budgets, and contractors who overpromised and underdelivered.
So he built Riverbend differently. Matt works directly with every client from consultation to final walkthrough—taking measurements, designing layouts, selecting materials, and overseeing construction. No handoffs, just one person who knows your vision and budget inside and out.
His design approach is rooted in functionality first. Matt listens to how you use your kitchen and designs solutions that make daily life easier, with every detail intentional.
HOW KITCHEN DESIGN WORKS AT RIVERBEND
Discovery & In-Home Consultation
We start by listening. During your in-home consultation, Matt takes measurements, photographs your space, and learns about your frustrations, cooking habits, and goals—so the design reflects how you actually use your kitchen. A pre-consultation worksheet helps guide this first meeting.
Showroom Visit & Project Review
Next, we clarify your needs and start defining the kitchen’s design. We build an initial mood board, make early selections for cabinets, countertops, and flooring, and explore functional upgrades like smart layouts, organizers, and pullouts.
Layout Choices & 3D Design
We present a curated design and review it thoroughly. We present pricing on a budgetary basis and perform the revisions necessary to pull the final design together
Material & Finish Selection
We perform a review of the final design and pricing. We ensure that everything is covered: functionality, aesthetics, and cost. Giving clients a full picture of the project.
Final Design Confirmation & Pre-Construction
This should speak to your project is delivered seamlessly & smoothly. Whether you’re doing a full remodel or a custom cabinetry package – We’re here to support and deliver your project.
