Frequently Asked Questions - Dubuque Remodeling
How long does it take to get a quote?
We start the process with a 1 hour in home consultation. You’ll choose your door style, finish, trims, and hardware.
We send homeowners quotes within 1-2 business days after the consultation.
Do you reface with veneers?
Veneers are required in almost every refacing job, but it’s not the primary refacing material.
We use veneers in tight spaces where thick material would cause problems with appliances/clearances.
Our preferred refacing materials for the boxes are solid hardwood/plywood.
New doors are always built out of solid hardwoods.
When would a project last more than 5 days?
Projects that last more than 5 days typically have a few things in common:
1. More than 40 doors and drawer fronts total
2. Countertops & backsplash replacement are involved in the scope of work
The vast majority of our kitchens can be done in 5 days or less. But we do have projects that run longer.
When is cabinet refacing not a good idea?
DON’T reface your cabinets if the following are true:
1. The cabinets are structurally unsound/falling apart
2. Obvious water damage
3. Major layout changes are needed
4. You want to move appliances
5. You want the least expensive solution (we reccomend painting for a more cost effective alternative)
